The main objectives of the Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S) are to be an internationally recognised actor in the development of recommendations for good manufacturing and distribution practices for medicinal products (but also for pharmaceutical raw materials), to be a training place for inspectors, to bring inspection systems to a high level of quality management and to be a place for exchanges between inspectors but also between industry and inspectors on technical subjects. The PIC/S comprises 54 inspection authorities from 50 different countries. Anses-ANMV has been a member of PIC/S since its origin in 1995.
The objective of the PIC/S is to:
- international harmonisation of GMPs;
- training of Inspectors;
- the creation of an international network of inspectors;
- exchange of GMP information and experience;
- the establishment of quality management systems for inspections.
