Through this new call, ANSES wishes to include more European and international scientists. Twenty-four (24) scientists with expertise in the Agency's fields of competence will be selected.

To ensure independence and transparency in its expert appraisal activities, ANSES publishes information on the measures taken to analyse the interests declared by its experts. Alongside the matrix for analysing personal connections, it is publishing specific guidelines for analysing intellectual ties.

ANSES has defined its strategic orientations for 2023 in its five main areas of activity: food, animal health & welfare, environmental health, plant health and occupational health.

On 17 October, Sophie Lardy-Fontan was appointed Director of ANSES's Laboratory for Hydrology. A trained researcher, she is now responsible for coordinating all of the laboratory's scientific work aimed at improving the safety of water.

Benoît Vallet has been appointed Director General of ANSES by decree of 31 October 2022, succeeding Roger Genet, who has led the Agency since 2016. He will take office on 15 November 2022.

The "Biotechnology, Environment and Health" dialogue committee, chaired by Mr Jacques Vernier, met for the first time today at ANSES. Its purpose is to create a forum for exchange with stakeholders on the Agency's scientific work in this area. It will address ANSES's new assessment missions, since 1 January 2022, relating to organisms and products derived from biotechnology, both in the agri-food sector and for medical applications.

As part of the State "France Relance" plan, two energy-efficiency refurbishment projects have been selected to receive a total of €107,174.40 in EU funding.
