Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, the President of Mongolia, visits ANSES
As part of his official visit to France, the President of Mongolia, Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, travelled to Maisons-Alfort to visit the Alfort National Veterinary School (ENVA) and ANSES. He was accompanied by Marc Mortureux, Director General of ANSES, and had the opportunity to find out about ANSES as well as IdentyPath, the national technological platform of ANSES's Laboratory for Food Safety dedicated to monitoring pathogenic microorganisms responsible for food poisoning or involved in animal or plant health. On this occasion, President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj also held discussions with ENVA, ANSES, the National Laboratory for Control of Breeder Stock (LNCR) and the French National Union of Cooperatives for Animal Breeding and Insemination (ALLICE).
As part of his official visit to France, the President of Mongolia, Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, was invited to ANSES's Laboratory for Food Safety for a presentation of the IdentyPath platform.
ANSES decided to create the IdentyPath platform in 2010 to address the public health challenges posed by infectious diseases using a multidisciplinary approach based on the pooling of skills. This platform uses high-throughput sequencing and high- and medium-throughput PCR methodologies for the qualitative and quantitative detection, identification, typing and molecular characterisation of pathogenic microorganisms responsible for food poisoning or involved in animal or plant health. It provides all of the Agency's laboratories with support and is a leading platform for high- and medium- throughput molecular analysis.
The President of Mongolia continued his visit by holding discussions with ANSES, ENVA, the National Laboratory for Control of Breeder Stock (LNCR) and the French National Union of Cooperatives for Animal Breeding and Insemination (ALLICE) to address various topics of common interest. Issues related to animal health (brucellosis, foot and mouth disease) and genetic improvement are extremely important to Mongolia. Thus, partnerships with these French organisations may be established or continued in these areas.
